My Costco Card Won't Work

Costco complaint

Over a year ago, my Costco charge card quit working. I mean, the magnetic part is corrupt. I cannot purchase gas and when I use it inside the store,the Manager has to be called each time! I have asked for a new card, but the person from India on the phone keeps telling me that my card is fine. It is not fine, it will not work!!!! I have tried to order a different card, no luck there,either. It would help if the people on the telephone could speak good English. Please help!! This is a complaint about the charge card itself.

I am new to Costco.com but would be happy to look into this for you. I believe the last person's response was correct and that the membership desk could replace your card and that would fix the issue. If that doesn't resolve your concern just reply back to this thread and I'll look into an alternative action for you. I apologize you've had such trouble up to this point for something so simple. We do value your membership and apologize for the frustration.

There are two types of Costco Credit Cards (because costco does not accept typical visa/mastercard cc). American Express and HRS (household retail services) are the only Credit modes of payment accepted. I am guessing that you are having difficulty with your HRS card - the membership desk can electronically request a new one issued to your home (stop by the returns/membership desk) or you can keep trying to reach another person through their customer service, though it may be an exercise in frustration.

Amex is moderately easier to resolve through their phone csr's. Good luck!
