I spent an hour working on my resume and then another 30 minutes working on the application for Costco in Arvada, CO. I was told by a cashier that I should apply and that they may be hiring. She told me that after applying I should call and talk to someone about my...

Maybe you should understand a little bit about a retail job before you apply for one. In most stores a manager no longer sits in an office.

They have a phone on one hip, a radio on another and are out on the sales floor working with employees and customers. Your call may not be the first thing in line. They were probably finishing a discussion your call interrupted and the shuffling you hear was them moving on to another area to check on what openings were available. A retail store often takes in 20 or more applications for each open position.

The applications are reviewed and the people that look like the best fit for the position will be called in for an interview. A lot of things go into that selection. They will look at the hours you are willing to work to see if they fit the schedule they have open. If you are asking $25 an hour for a $10 an hour job, don't expect a call.

They will also look at your work history.

You can bet they aren't looking for someone that jumps jobs every 2 or 3 months. Yes you may spend a lot of time filling out applications...just keep in mind managers spend a lot of time hiring people and can only spend time talking to the few applicants that really fit their needs.

Costco in Raleigh, North Carolina - Here today gone tomorrow

4.0
Details
Costco is getting to full of themselves. You may like a product and next thing gone, ask a manager you get a run around push to someone else answer. Next thing you see is a Kirkland product, when tried does not come close to product they got rid of. You can't reach the company, which shows their lack of concern of buyers in their store. I don't see them getting rid of the rows and rows of clothes or the furniture but food items gone in a heart beat. The stores even have taken items from the hot concession stand. Do they ever take the paulse of the buyers on what they would like gone or not.

You may like a certain item but it may not be popular enough to keep. Costco is built on the concept of selling LARGE volumes of product at a low profit margin.

If a item doesn't sell in large volumes it is replaced by an item that sells better. You can bet they take the pulse of their customers. It's done at the cash register. If a product is putting cash in the till it stays, and if it's not, the product is out the door.

Any store that wants to stay in business does the same thing. A store that keeps stocking the same old thing and doesn't change with demand will soon be closing their doors.

Costco in North Bay, Ontario - Cashier Fault

My spouse and myself had cards for membership. I removed my card and had it put in sons name since he was attending school in Sudbury and we are from North Bay. This was 2 years ago, I have used my spouses card 3 or 4 times without him there and renewed the membership 2 times myself. on Feb. 27th I attempted to purchase with my spouses card and was not allowed because my spouse was not there. Was told nothing could be done at all even though I paid for the membership myself. Too bad this wasn't noticed When I paid for renewal 2 months previously, then i would have renewed membership with a new photo ID.I believe this should have been handled in a way that was not so embarrassing and been treated like a valued customer.

Costco needs to lighten up on the damn membership card rules. If I can’t allow my direct family members who live with me to use my card I will take my business elsewhere.

I hope anyone else given grief does the same. GFY Costco

Not their fault that you changed your cards name to your son's. If you had paid the fees you should have you would have had your own card. Rather than being mad you should feel lucky you got away with cheating the system as long as you did.

So you admitted that you had your name taken off the account. And now it is Costco's fault that you were trying to use a card that does not have your name on it?

Did you read the front of the card that said "NON-TRANSFERABLE"?

If you want to shop there without your husband maybe you should have your son removed from the account! This seems like your fault not Costco's fault!

Costco - Verbal Abuse By Employee

Like most people I know, I have been a "lifelong member" of Costco, having gone there with my parents since I was a child and having bought my own membership for some years now. However, I am questioning the etiquette that Costco employees demonstrate for their consumers. I was verbally berated at the gas pump this evening by a Costco employee who was pissed that I was pumping my gas when the membership gas pumps closed. He questioned whether I knew how to pump my own gas and to not top off. As a thirty year old female who has been driving since the year 2000, I found this rather offensive. Then I was told "not to spill" like I am still incapable of knowing how to properly fill a gas tank. This may not represent the views of Costco employees as a whole, but it is surely cause for concern. I feel like the Costco organization needs to place more focus on demonstrating professionalism and proper customer service, as this type of behavior is offensive and degrading, not only as a female but as a member of the driving community. I will not be going back to this location any time soon.

So, they got mad because you pumped gas when you weren't supposed to, and the pumps were closed? How could they do that do you? i guess you're allowed to do whatever you want.

Costco in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco - Tires changed

Bought two front tires the service took off all four tires . When they returned the car the back two tires were never re tightened so the manager after I argued with him he checked them and all nuts were loose. Then on inspection they had broke 3 lug nuts on the two front tires and stripped one of them.. They just said yes you will have to have them replaced but we don't do that . The two front tires cost as much as having the lugs replaced at another garage . Really you have to love Mexico Costco in Puerto Vallarta. Luckily I checked the tires before driving away. Not a real saving here.

Costco in Toronto, Ontario - Order's delivery

1.0
Details
Today I received an elliptical that I ordered from Costco. I was waiting almost 3 weeks for the delivery but it is not a problem. The problem is that the delivery company they contracted only delivers to the curb. 200 pounds package! I was alone at home and I am a petit woman. First the driver wanted to leave it just on the pass way in front of the house where people walk. After several calls to the delivery company and conversation with the driver, I have to push the box together with the guy toward our house and inside so it is not stolen or damaged on the street. Costco should advise me when I ordered that the product won't be delivered to my house, as all other companies do, so I probably will think twice if I order from them. Very disappointed.

I have never seen such horrible customer service than at Costco. Most companies are all about keeping customers happy. Costco seems to have a different policy. I have read several reviews & they all seem to revolve around the same thing. Rude customer service....

If you read what you signed up for, Costco does not take payment from non-members in general, especially credit cards. When you sign up for a credit card, you realize credit cards are non-transferable, the same way a Costco membership works.

So no, you may not use someone's Costco card, and then try to use your own credit card. See point 3.

Costco - Oranges Review from Fountainebleau, Florida

2.1
Details
Be careful when you buy oranges, there's always bad and moldy ones at the bottom of the box. I tried to get at least a parcial refund for the bad ones, and they say that it has to be half of the box bad to get a refund. Wtf? so they refused to give me any refund. What a bad a demeaning customer service experience with Ena in the doral, Miami location. She doesn't get that you need to give people a refund when you sell moldy produce. For sure I'm not renewing my membership next year

It seems they make sure there is one bad one in the bottom of every single box. Every single time!

It's really annoying. I think I'll start buying them elsewhere.
