Costco review in Kamloops, British Columbia: Refusal of flat repair

First off, as a former marketing rep of Costco I was emphatically told many times " these are members, not customers". Apparently times have changed. On Sunday Sept 28/14 I had a slow leak in a tire. This vehicle is fairly new and therefore still using the factory equipped Bridgestone tires. I approached the tire shop in Kamloops B.C. and asked if they could do a patch. I was told no because they were not purchased there. I then proceeded to talk with Ray, assistant warehouse manager. He also refused. I explained that between the 2 vehicles I own, 12 of the 16 tires we have (winters) were purchased at Costco. In fact, since the warehouse opened in 1994 I have not purchased tires anywhere else. Still wouldn't do it . No concern for the fact that I had already tried tire shops ( all closed ) and we would be stranded. Ray insisted he couldn't help me. As a twenty year"member" I was extremely disappointed. I guess I have officially been down graded to customer. Just not as frequent.

They did their job, you complained up the ladder and got no where. Repairing a tire and putting it back in service means Costco is liable for a tire that's not even their product. Learn to put on your spare or call a tow

U worked for costco and still don't know their policies come on.......don't take our ur frustrations by making these complaints which clearly are in place for a reason .

No issue, just responding to the guy that had the Costco Car Wash bad experience

I realize all this is hindsight wisdom. To address a WORST CASE situation that may emerge (a small probability given your situation), go to finance.yahoo.com, enter the stock symbol, the company profile will give you who the Chairman/CEO is and the address/fax. His office will probably settle this quickly, given the circumstances. To address a WORST CASE situation I personally like keep a written record usually fax or email, since legally I have SOME leg to stand on, not to mention I can use that as a file attachment for complaining to a LOT of Federal and State agencies. How soon after the car wash did you notice it? Meaning, if you can clearly establish that, THEN the chairman of a large business like Costco should have enough common sense to settle this at once, given how much is the labor cost per hour to settle this going back and forth - OTHERWISE I have to question how did you get as far as he did in his career? Did you photograph it immediately (like using your cell phone for example) so there's a date and time stamp? By the way, did you call your insurance company immediately, file a claim ? Usually, once you file a claim, they will contact the other party's insurance company to attempt to resolve and recover your copay or deductible - no guarantees here (my own experience is this situation was - the other party was a deadbeat who was driving around without any insurance - that shouldn't happen in the case of Costco). Sure that's a lot of hours of work, but if you consider the whole world as a classroom, well then - that's the world we live in, life won't get any simpler by going to a rural village or an island or riding a bicycle. These alternatives will probably much make things much more difficult depending what the situation is. This is assuming this matter will drag on and on, but the likelihood of that happening is probably slim. A lot depends on how well you have kept your diary, notes/records and how effectively you communicate.

Costco review in Stockton, California: Really bad customer service.

I was looking for a 50LB Jasmine Rise bag. I couldn't fine it so I ask one of you employee for help. When asking him if they (costco) still had the 50 LB Jasmine Rise bag he simply just said no we don't have it. At that point I was confused. Thinking they no longer carried the 50LB I went and graved the 25LB. Yet as I was leaving I checked there top inventory and saw the 50LB Jasmine Rise bag. I went to go tell the man that why had he said he did not have any when I just saw a pallet. He at never of that point before that said let me check or let me have some one check to see. Till I went to tell him to check because I had just seen the pallet. He was not nice about and just asked someone else to help me. They had me waiting for more then 10 minutes I even had to ask another employee if she could check to see if they were coming to get me the bag of rise. I know he was one of the supervisors. Couldn't get his name, yet a simply let me check and see if we have any would have been wonderful not a "No we not have it".

went to buy tires at costco they was a lot of runaround to find tires took 3 weeks and several calls was assured that meivale head office would have them made appointment brought car in at 14:15 hrs and car came our at 17:15 hrs Really 3hours!quick istallation?qualified? while removing wheels JAMED on ebrake to lock wheels for easy removal broke hubcap? i watched the procedure just couldn"t believe what I saw , when car was returned brake was jamed on Thier experts pulld Ebrake cable from under car so it would move inproper tire inflation on two tires had to bring car to QUALIFIED tire shop on MERIVALE and CLYDE to correct and verify tire and tork nuts on wheels for my saftey ! where do we report this bad work practice MOT? MOL ? they refused to accept responsablity for this incompitent istallation and refered me to thier lawyers GREAT Company ! IS THIS WHERE YOU WANT YOUR TIRES INSTALLED?????

Well, what did you expect?? You should have gone to a tire place first, not a one stop box store. Would you get your hair cut at the butcher shop??

Costco review: Organised Stalking

I was shopping in the Eureka, California store and noticed a employee flowing me totally around the store so I finally said "excuse me sir but can I help you"? with no answer from the geek, I asked him why he was following and he didn't like me accusing him of stalking and escorted me out of the store. What BS. If this moma's baby can't take the heat when he's caught trying to perpertrate FEAR in someone he needs some mental HELP! Now I know for a fact employees of this store stalk people, but to be so blatent is criminal. I also know that COSTCO is part of a secret crime wave sweeping the US and countries all over the world. People are being group stalked and targeted in COSCO stores all over the world. What a great expierance to shop in COSCO knowing you have NO PRIVICY as you shop. Keep it up and watch your customber base sink, idiots.

I came into the same situation today, and I felt very disappointed with Costco Fremont Store. The cashier acted in a very rude manner and did not explain store rules to me, but her supervisor explained clearly to me. Customer service is very important to a store, and Costco should pay more attention on training cashiers.

Get some customer service training for the store manager on down. The tone is set at the top so I'd start by getting the store manager a little training.

I live off the grid, and purchase water from Costco. Placed my order online on 8/19/14, order was "shipped" (according to Costco) on 8/20/14. When I had not received my order by 8/26 I called their customer service. They promised to call the carrier and expedite my delivery. A few hours later I received an e-mail from Costco customer service stating that my order would be delivered the next day, 8/27. Well, 8/27 came and went and no delivery. I was running out of water and requested they again expedite the carrier. Much to my surprise I was told that my order would not be delivered until Tue 9/2 because the original carrier had sent the order to a third party carrier for delivery. I then specifically requested that my order be canceled and that I be issued a refund because I had to go buy water in the closest town (50+ miles one way) or I'd be without water. To this day, 9/16, the refund has not been issued. This is absolutely not acceptable. I have again complained with Costco by calling the agent with whom I dealt throughout all this ordeal, and have received no response.
