A couple of years ago, I observed a top quality rating on TV that Costco provided the best eye glasses and service. WELL, after spending $375.00 on eye test and glasses, the glasses lasted 10-14 months.

The lenses became fractured. Response from Costco, this happens to plastic glasses in Arizona. My response, Why do you sell them in Arizona, or at least inform customer of this problem. Response, We can fix them for another $98.00.

I left with a reply, No way in *** will I ever buy glases at Costco. I should have know better, because it required a second set, because the first pair of glasses were flawed..

Monetary Loss: $300.

Sounds like an astroturfer for Luxotica - google '60 minutes luxotica' and find out what a rip-off your eyeglasses are.

This guy's problem is that he lives in a *** hot place and technology doesn't yet exist that can withstand those temperatures!

My wife and I purchased glasses and took the eye . Our glasses never fit well.

They were cheap. I went to buy a pair of prescription sun glasses and was told I had to take the eye test again.

I found out that was not a state law in Florida and only a way for them to make more money at Costco. NO GOOD Glasses :zzz

Purchased my first pair of glasses from Costco in West Springfield, MA. Sent first pair back because the anti glare didn't work and it made any smudge three times as easy to see.

Second pair has uneven spots where it appears wavy. Some lighting creates a double image.

They couldn't fix the frames to adjust to my face without looking crooked. Low price yes...typical Costco quality NO!

8) I ordered my Glasses through Costco to my much delight I found out the same lenses that are special order that I paid 500.00 for at a boutique I could get them at Costco. I tried on all the glasses Found a pair and ordered both eyeglasses and sun glasses they came in three weeks later and fit great. Scottsdale, AZ

AFTER A SERIES OF RETINAL TEARS I NEEDED A PRESCRIPTION UPDATE FOR THE COSTCO GLASSES I WAS WEARING .... THE PRESCRIPTION WAS FROM A NON-COSTCO DOCTOR OF OPTOMETRY WHO WAS INCREDIBLY THOROUGH AND DOUBLE CHECKED ANY RETINAL ISSUES

I TOOK THE NEW PRESCRIPTION TO COSTCO BURLINGTON WASHINGTON .... THE SERVICE WAS WORSE THAN ROTE .... THE FIT WAS NEVER LOOKED AT ..... TO MY STATEMENT THAT I NEEDED AN ADJUSTMENT OF THE FOCAL HEIGHT WAS "IT'S HERE IN THE COMPUTER"

MY GLASSES CAME BACK AND WERE NEVER PROPERLY CHECKED BY THE OPTITION .... AFTER TWO DAYS I REALIZED SOMETHING WAS NOT CORRECT ..... A QUICK SCAN OF A PREVIOUS LENS ORDER AND A SUSPECTED LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE FOCAL HEIGHT HAD BEEN REVERSED .... A STOP AT MY OPTOMETRIST CONFIRMED THIS

LEFT AND RIGHT HAD BEEN REVERSED !!!!

THIS WAS TO BE MY LAST BUSINESS WITH COSTCO OPTICAL ..... THESE ..... ARE MY EYES A I WAS TREATED LIKE AN ASSEMBLY LINE ..... THIS MAY MEAN THAT I STOP GIVING COSTCO ANY OF MY BUSINESS

I got two pairs of eyeglasses (first prescription, first time glasses wearer) at Costco in Tustin. The service was absolutely great, and I am still wearing the same glasses over a year later.

My doc said my prescription hasn't changed, so these glasses are up for another year of use. I have one single-vision pair and a pair of progressives for night vision while driving - and these have the transition coating so that they can double as sunglasses when I'm not driving. They are great!

The prices on the frames were about half the price for the same brand of frame in any other store, and I've been very pleased. I just wish that Costco was in network for my EyeMed insurance plan.

I've noticed Costco's treatment of their customers is sub-par. Once while waiting in line to pay, a clerk came up to me out of the blue and asked to see my Costco card and another I.D.

Another time I asked for a coupon book at the customer service desk and was told by the clerk I should have received one through the mail. When I told her I hadn't received one she double checked on the computer just to make sure I wasn't lying.

Sam's is lot more polite and their product line is about the same. Costco just has more snob appeal if you are insecure and that matters.

I went to Costco to get and eye exam and glasses. The Dr who did my eye exam was having a bad day and took it out on me, I have never been treated so rudely.

He was impatient and sarcastic. I never went to Costco for eyeglasses again.

I bought my frames on-line for 1/2 price than an optical store and had Costco (Port Chester, NY) make the lenses for them from my prescription. It took 3 weeks to get them, and after a month my lenses got scratched, even though I paid extra for the anti-scratch coating.

Yes, they will fix them but that meant I would have to give them my eyeglasses and not be able to see for 3 weeks or buy another pair of glasses from them and wait 3 weeks for that pair which defeats the purpose of trying to save $. I found out that all they would be doing is resurfacing them and NOT replacing the lenses.

I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO COSTCO.

Glasses that are 10-14 months old shouldn't break. If they do break then maybe it's God's way of saying, "those glasses were ugly. get some new ones."

Maybe go back and try again...I think you'll be very happy w/ costco if you return.

THE FACTS: Costco has the best customer service, the best quality in lenses, and the best prices by far!! I would wait all day on a line JUST TO GET THAT!!

You go to lenscrafters pay at least 500 for a complete pair with a discount. THATS NUTS!! Costco offers the same quality for way less. They use Essilor lenses , Vivex coating on there anti glare ( which is only 29.99 additional) and guess what???

Lenscrafters or pearle give a 30 day return policy , you know what costco is , Just like the warehouse policy, IF YOUR UNHAPPY FOR ANY REASON YOU CAN BRING THEM BACK. ( u think im lying, ask them).

IT pays just to be a member to use there optical. Insane not too.

Wait a minute, you went to COSTCO expecting Nordstrom service? Huge Mistake #1, you want the discount price but not the discout service- Costco is a WAREHOUSE for criminy sakes!!!You don't get "white glove" service in a warehouse store!!!

I've purchased 4 pair of glasses from Costco (both Issaquah and Bellevue stores) and have had nothing but great service.

I think your expecations led to your dissappointment, not Costco.!! Why do you think there were so many people in front of you-somebody must like their service!

Three weeks ago I went to Costco to order eye glasses. They have a numbered *** system, which should have been my first clue that they don't mind making customer wait a long time. When I arrived and took my number there were about six numbers ahead of me. More than 20 minutes passed before they finally called my number. The girls working there had served two young guys out of sequence. So not only do they make you wait, if the girls working there aren't interested in flirting with you then you wait even longer.

Finally I was able to get service and within a few minutes was able to place my order with them.

They told me that my order would be filled within two weeks. After three weeks I called them to find out what was going on. To which they responded that my glasses had been ready since December 4th, but I never got a call.

I drove the 30 minute to Issaquah to pick-up my glasses. When I arrived there were dozens of customers in the *** in front of me. From my previous experience I knew that this meant that my wait would be nearly an hour. Since all I wanted was to pick-up my glasses, I asked the connected optometrist's office to help me collect my glasses. They were only too happy to inform me that none of the four people standing around doing nothing could help me.

Since I could not wait, I went back to my office and called them to ask that they mail my order to me. They informed me that there is a $5 charge for this and that I can only pay with American Express. I don't have an America Express card so they told me that I can drive the 30 minute back there and wait in line to pay the $5 fee.?? In response to this I canceled my order. This seemed to delight the girl I was speaking with. However, she initially informed me that they could only be refunded to an American Express card. When I reminded them that I can accept a check they finally agreed to mail me a check.

Upset with having wasted so much time and been treated so poorly, I attempted to file a complaint through the Costco web site. However, the complaint page is broken. Based on my experience, the fact that they have no means of collecting customer feedback is not a surprise.

In Summary:

- Extremely long wait times.

- Aloof, indifferent, and downright rude staff.

- Poor customer service policy.

- Broken customer feedback web page.
