OP:It is pretty easy to change or cancel your membership. Simply go to the Customer Service counter at the closest Costco and give them your card and say you want to cancel......

Your reasons for not wanting to renew are not valid, but it does not matter. They will refund your membership fee with no questions asked.

I have been away and coukd not remember if I payed our membership. I followed the directions to membership on the invoice. Didn't help. The directions did not match website. I enrolled and still could not check my status. I waited on hold for 30 minutes to get this resolved....had to hang and go to work. Costco is a very large company....unfortunatly their customer service is in extreme decline.
