Over the years, I've been unhappy about Costco service. Or the lack thereof.

But I put up with it for price. When they first started, their price difference was spectacular. In most cases now, they are just slightly less. Superstore will often meet their prices, but recently for the first time, has beat them.

Calgary Costco is selling 6 tins of pink salmon for $8.99; Superstore sells the same for $7.99. If this trend continues, it makes no sense to endure poor service AND pay to shop there to pay more.

And their expansion to include an "executive" membership is just a prelude to an increase in all membership levels.

Agreed that Costco had lower prices. Was worth shopping there and putting up with everything.

It's more convenient to shop at ONE store instead of multiple. I am thinking about canceling my membership and get a full refund.

Costco should offer better service for what is being paid. Especially they are raising membership prices again!

Costco does its best to keep prices low. If any of you have noticed, they no longer sell Apple products, because they were unable to offer a lower price.

Also, be sure to compare exact item's brands, not just exact items.

Membership sells is how Costco makes its revenue. Prices are rising everywhere, do you think Costco doesn't have to accomodate this as well?

yeah, like the previous poster said, costco managers or the ones who can do something about things will NEVER read this report. before they set their prices, they do all their p and l statements and carefully price their items.

they wouldnt do it if they didnt have to.

I know a few families that shop at several stores also. that works really well.

the higher ups will never read this report on this mundane web site so like they'd probably tell you...

Go shop somewhere else if you dont like Costco anymore.

They know what they're doing when they raise their prices. Prices are sky high everywhere. things have changed. most go to 5 or 6 different stores now in what's called "combination shopping"

Pick one day to go out with a list and get your groceries and non grocery items at several stores instead of just one.

After a few weeks, you get used to who has what and get a routine going. Many are clipping coupons again.

One trip to all 6 stores means youre only using gas in the car that one day. Buying in bulk isnt the way to go anymore. Maybe a couple of things it is, but its not worth paying a store to grace them with your presence anymore. There are better deals elsewhere.

Hey Pulltype & common sense, try using some. Nashma is identifying an issue and wants to see a resulotion.

Just going somewhere else instead of having the issue resolved is the why customer service levels are where they are. People want to shop at Costco because they advertise the lowest price. In the past, this benefit came with bad service.

This is 2012 and there is no excuse for bad customer service. Just do what you say you will and do it without making it obvious that you hate your life, pretty simple really

This is one item, but perhaps someone from Costco can make a response and explain it specifically. Otherwise, why keep on buying Costco's membership if they do not guarantee lower prices?

Keep it simple -- if you do not like it don't go -- use common sense, absolutely. I love the Canadian Costco stores, just slightly different from the USA version, and go every time I can.

If their service is getting worst ,why would you still shop there, and if the super store had it cheaper why not just go get it from there, instead if *** about it???
