I am writing to complain about the way I was treated at your Fort Myers branch on 10/30/2024.
The cashier, Soraya, hit my merchandise, which was the food that I was going to pay for, brutally battered against the counter.
I waited my turn patiently, I have the right to be treated with respect, and not as if I had bought leftover disposable products.
That meal will be cooked and eaten by my family, we were doing the monthly shopping, we go once or twice up to three times a month and I can show you that we make a respectable investment for your company, or we used to.
I called the manager and he didn't even apologize while Soraya continued mistreating the merchandise, like a bag of stones, the manager Raul offered me to change the cashier line, he said but that the treatment would be the same, I informed him that I did not agree with the service, that that is no way to treat food and that Soraya was not doing a good job and the proof was that Soraya added merchandise to our cart that was not ours.
Raul stopped us when we were leaving because the next customer noticed the mistake.
When the merchandise is on the island and in the car it is Costco items, when I, the customer, pay for it it is mine and I organize it where and how I want, Costco system is an insult to the food and who eats it, a lack of respect and consideration for the customer, now that their cashiers throw it in the cart and do not allow the customer to put it in their bags, is lack of courtesy, this concept is accepted in the markets because it increased the number of markets and self-checkout, for whatever reasons you want, but that concept is included.
It is also based on the common sense of not putting a bag of potatoes on top of eggs or bananas, the products that need cooler together, that make sense? To you?. I usually bring my own coolers and pack of ice to preserve frozen products.
My husband John witnessed the situation that day, and he was shocked and speechless, my daughter Barbara is the account holder, and I am in charge of the inventory, administration, and purchase of what is necessary, I am a chef, for the house, that is why I personally select what we are going to consume, how and when from which market.
Costco is no longer on my list since I distribute my purchases among other markets where the prices are very good and the service is excellent, Trade Joe, Walmart, Publix, and occasionally Wings', their cashiers are friendly, they are not possessed like maniacs, the clients are respected since the profits that pay their salaries depend on them, the service standards are excellent, clients enjoy the time necessary to make their purchases and the market even offers to take the merchandise to the car.
Soraya's behavior is not isolated, I am tired of this type of mistreatment at Costco Naples, they do the same thing, the self-checkout has so many barriers that it is even slower, and all the controls that are carried out by the "stealing" customer are a pain.
All the rush from the cashier is useless because the stealing control slows down after that, Costco as clients we are all suspicious, the experience is disgusting, never count on me, anymore, and I am a person who reads reviews before using a service or making a purchase because others are generous with their time and warn about bad services and in compensation I also do it, that way we all improve the lives of others, it is a small contribution.
This experience was exactly two months ago, but the way they made me feel was so horrible that I couldn't let it go, the least I deserve is an apology and that's Costco's job.

I wanted to return 2 bathroom fans in the original boxes, never installed/used. However, they were at least 3 years old.
They wouldn't let me do the return even though I explained they were the wrong size. I explained that both my parents died and I was busy caring for them, so I only recently had an opportunity to have someone come out to do the installation, but they still refused.

I feel their products are quality and well made. I have never returned anything larger than clothing or gloves etc.
My large purchases were the kitchen appliance package and leather office chair, I was satisfied with both. Any of the other returns have been super easy put right back on my card don't need to worry about losing a receipt. If consumers have an issue my feeling would be it is because they are abusing it.
I watched somebody bring in a busted up couch which looked like kids have been jumping on it for 9 months. Shame on them.

After one year our upright freezer (Galanz) stopped freezing at the top 3 shelves. We had to deal with the manufacturer.
They couldn't get it repaired so they issued us a full refund. It took nearly 3 months to get the check from the manufacturer. There was a 2-year warranty on it.
We purchased a different one from Costco online and it was delivered within a week and the old one removed. No shipping cost or cost to remove the old freezer

Costco would not install oven (installer feigned some problem) had to have it hired to be done by friend. Said he would do it for free unless we could get reimbursed.
There was no problem with installation for professional. Costco would not refund money because it was done for free and we were trying to get reimbursed retroactively. I told him I would get an invoice. Said what I was doing was fraud- told me the call was being recorded- about 15 times.
So- trying to get the installer paid was fraud? So- my revenge- I want to get the word out that anyone having to have oven installed that you bought at Costco- they will reimburse up to $200- so tell your installer to charge you that!!!

Verified Reviewer |Cancelled My Membership Early To Punish Me Since I Can't Afford to Renew
I have been a member since 2015. It is impossible to speak with a person at their customer phone number anymore, its just a continuous loop.
In September, I responded in writing to my paper renewal notice . I wrote that as a senior I can no longer afford 65.00 annually. I wrote Sam's Club has a 20.00 senior membership. My membership wasn't scheduled to expire until NOV 30.
But Michael P who received my response thought it would be funny to CANCEL my membership OCT 1. I never said cancel it- my membership was paid up until NOV 30, 2024 and I fully intended to use it until it expired. I thought they might want to know why I wasn't renewing in hopes Costco might create a Senior Membership, but instead Michael P decided to punish me for not having enough money to afford this anymore. In his eyes I was insignificant because I'm now a senior citizen .
What a cruel thing to do. Unaware that Michael P had shut down my membership , I went shopping on Saturday Oct 5th. My card wouldn't work , the line was backing up behind me. People were staring .
I almost started crying in the store . It took 30 minutes to get my membership reactivated and all the while I got questions as though it were somehow my fault - like did you lose your card ? did it already expire ? etc ...
I guess my decision to go to Sam's Club is a good idea after all.
*Update - On Oct 7, at 11:17am CST I spoke with Heather from Costco's Corp Offices at phone number 425-313-***5. At that time she promised to extend my membership until end of January . She never did anything . Still set to expire Nov 30th.
So apparently Costco's answer to my legitimate concern is " don't let the door hit you on the way out . Yet another example of the Age Discrimination they practice at Costco.
**Final Update --On Oct 26th I cancelled my membership , received a cash refund for the annual fee and walked out .

S. - The door didn't hit me and I will be spending that cash and more somewhere else for Christmas.

I was at the courtesy desk when I dropped my reusable Costco bag while searching for a card, when I got home I called the store asking if they found it, come in and look was the reply, I came in the next morning and the representative said they did not have it, without even looking, I was trying to explain myself but with my speech impediment I am often judged and that is not fair, I am very disappointed

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with partial refund.
Delivery was terrible. Costco hired 3rd party, NPT to deliver.
NPR sent one guy to deliver when clearly 2 were needed to lift a sofa, so my husband and I had to help carry it into the house.
Plus the delivery guy from NPT was afraid to drive into our driveway, so my husband had to meet him on the road with our skidsteer to get the sofa to our house. On top of all that the sofa was packaged so poorly it was damaged during shipment.

Costco Churchill Road - not good. Since the scanner has been installed for entry, it's hard to get in with the line up of people with large shopping trolleys.
The shopping trolleys are too big for me as I'm only 4ft 11inches. Then, when going through self-service checkout, I'm told I have to pick up an 11 kg cat food bag to scan. There's no help for the elderly as I'm close to 70. Policy, policy that's all I heard.
Policy change, go over to the other side, I was told. Why then do they have self-serve and no mobile scanner reader available? It's a laugh.
Poor management. I will not be renewing my membership when it runs out and I will not recommend Costco to anyone.

I tried to find an E-mail address at Costco to send you this request to but it says you have no e-mail address for customer service but in my opinion you should since I did call and it did not help.
I was visiting in Ohio and got the Kirkland Jerky Treats chicken recipe in the blue bag Item number 163**** at the Avon, Ohio store. I live in Naples, Fl and our Costco does not carry them.
My daughter went back to the Avon, Ohio store today to buy some treats to bring when she visits this week and was told they do not carry them anymore or for the foreseeable future. Weird since when I called the corporate office they said they were a new item and would probably show up online soon. He gave me the Vendor number and I called there since he said they may know of a store closer to me that carries them. They told me to contact my local store manager to see if he could order them but I am sure those decisions are not made at a local level.
Can you tell me why a new item would be discontinued already? I have a very fussy dog and was shocked that she liked these. I tried other treats from Costco and she wont touch them. I would appreciate help to find these.
Are they really going to be online? If so I can order them no problem but so far they are not online as of today.
This is very disappointing. Please update me what is going on with the treats.

User's recommendation: Costco was alway so good because of excellent customer service. Now you cannot reach them via e-mail and I already contacted them by phone and called the Vendor which did not help. Apparently this dog treat was popular so why did the discontinue it? No one can answer this even when you call. Not good! The cost of these treats was about $16.99.
